Kids and Nutrition

I took my kids to the movies tonight to watch Fat Sick and Nearly Dead (Part 2) – and there were only 5 other people in the theater – kind of sad! Natalia imagined that the 5 people staring at us as we walked in must have been saying “who is that crazy lady bringing her kids to see this movie.” I do these things because I refuse for their dad’s death to be in vain. My husband looked physically fit and strong at 6’1. He worked out 6 days a week, and lived life to the fullest – he was the most fun person I have ever met. HOWEVER, there is a big however. He never ate a vegetable, drank Gatorade as his source of hydration, used coffee as his energy source..and because of this he hardly slept. He ate foods that fueled his Cancer the first few months he was diagnosed – AND this nonsense eating was all Doctor approved, and sadly we didn’t know any better.

Tonight not only did I reinforce what I have been teaching my children for the past 2 years, but I am also teaching them that they have the power to not only prevent diseases, but that chronic illnesses can in fact be reversed. My kids still eat crap periodically, but we are making strides every day towards a new and fun relationship with food. After the movie, my little one asked if they can begin juicing for breakfast every single morning. Her wish – is my command!
